Counseling, Support, and Personal Development:

It is not necessary to suffer from a disorder to benefit from the help of a psychologist. Sessions are a time entirely dedicated to you, which you can use for any goal you wish.

They can be an opportunity to know and understand ourselves better, to improve our self-esteem and self-confidence, improve our relationships with others and the world around us, improve our emotion regulation, improve time management and organizational skills, etc... or simply to find support whenever we feel we need some.

They can also be an opportunity to define personal goals and get help to achieve them, find your way when you feel lost, help you make important decisions, and so on...

Whatever your request is, we work together to improve your well-being, help you move forward in your life, and pave the way for a more serene and fulfilling future.

A few words about therapy

My orientation is mainly psychodynamic. It means that I explore with you your present and past experiences in order to understand how your story has shaped the person you have become, in your strengths but also in the difficulties you encounter. In this approach we seek to understand the root causes of these difficulties and what maintains them still today in order to help you overcome them and genuinely heal.

Often, symptoms emerge when certain emotions have been neglected or suppressed for too long. It is therefore important for us to welcome them, listen to them and understand what they are saying. Understanding your emotional experience is key in finding what is creating suffering within you and find out how to free yourself from it.

When needed, I integrate theories and tools from other orientations (such as CBT, IFS, Schema therapy, Attachment theories, etc...) in order to offer the most appropriate and relevant help as possible, according to the problem. This is what we call an "integrative approach".

For example, when it comes to an anxiety disorder, while the psychodynamic approach seeks to identify the source of this anxiety, understand it, and do an in-depth work in order to solve the problem in the long term, CBTs offer concrete strategies to learn how to manage anxiety symptoms in order to become more comfortable in usually stressful contexts.

Often, working on both fronts is important for a deep and long-lasting improvement.

However, it is important to keep in mind that the therapist does not "cure" his patient alone, the therapist and the therapeutic relationship helps the patient heal themselves. He helps them to understand themselves, to understand their difficulties, how to solve them, and to guide and support them in this process. But nothing is possible without the will of the patient to begin this process and to persevere in it.

Is Psychotherapy effective?

The effectiveness of psychotherapies has been the subject of countless studies over the last 40 years. They conclude that yes, psychotherapies are effective, regardless of the theoretical orientation of the therapist, as long as he has received solid training and is competent in his field.

Online psychotherapies have also shown the same effectiveness as traditional in-office psychotherapies.

However, studies have revealed that the second most important element to the success of psychotherapy is the quality of the relationship between patient and therapist. Indeed, psychotherapy is above all a human experience of connection to another. A trusting, authentic and caring relationship is therefore essential to the success of therapy. It is then important to see how you feel with your therapist and not hesitate to give them feedback about your feelings and let them know if something about their approach/attitude does not suit you. If you still don't feel comfortable enough with your therapist despite this, it is recommended to try seeing other therapists until you find the one that suits you.

To help avoid this problem, I offer you the possibility of having a free introduction video call of about 15minutes to get to know each other and discuss your needs before deciding to work together or not.
